History

Drake is a worldwide recruitment company with over 50 years experience in the recruitment sector.

In 1952, two men - Jim Shore and Bill Pollock set up Drake. They wanted to promote the idea that flexible working could revolutionise productivity in any company.

That idea grew and today Drake has branches in the UK, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore and Hong Kong. The success of Drake is due to high service levels, their unique method of working and the clever use of technology. The business has grown over the past 50 years and now provides recruitment solutions across occupations from Ports Distribution and Shipping to Nursing and Occupational Health.

Drake opened its first UK office in 1964, bringing the same values that had made it a success overseas. With multiple offices across the UK, Drake specialises in certain job markets in different locations.

Drake in Swansea is a prime example of working within one such niche. The Swansea office was set up in 1989 and is Drake’s most successful UK branch. Drake in Swansea specialises in the provision of industrial temporary staff to both the public and the private sector. Drake deal with large numbers of industrial temporary staff, often placing more than 200 people a day in various assignments in the South Wales area.
